if greyson cyprien had to be summed up in one word, it would be easy for most: asshole. there a few people in the state of california who have ever considered him caring, genuine, or thoughtful. instead, he fits the opposite of all three of those words quite well. greyson doesn’t much care what people think about him and therefore, acts accordingly. he will seldom help out unless there is some sort of benefit in the situation to him. on top of that, grey uses people to this advantage and casts them off once he’s finished with whatever they have to offer. he’s rude and sarcastic and knows just how to push people’s buttons…and rather enjoys it. if there’s anything greyson enjoys, it’s being a pest. he has a habit of appearing just when and where he shouldn’t and often overstays his welcome. unlike most people, when he see someone he hates, he goes to them to agitate them, rather than steering clear.
grey has quite the vicious temper when he’s wronged…or even just looked at the wrong way. little things tend to set him off easily, which doesn’t typically end well for others. he starts off with hateful comments but that often escalates to physical altercations. he’s been known to start bar fights simply for the hell of it and enjoys picking fights with other supernatural beings…even those who are out of his league. when he gets truly angered, he’ll go on feasting sprees that often last for days and leave plenty of casualties in his wake.
it’s no secret that greyson cyprien is a vampire…mostly because he makes it so well known. it is in this sense that he is considered to be extremely careless. he is a part of the pack of lycans stationed here in lower california, but he doesn’t do all that much to conceal that fact. because of this, the elders get quite angry with him but he doesn’t really care. over the last fifty years or so, he has done his best so as to not leave bodies behind him but he seldom uses his compelling powers to help mortals forget what attacked them. it is because of this that he is widely known to be a monster. along with his carelessness comes his blunt nature. seeing as he doesn’t give a damn about what opinions others have formed of him, he tends to say things outright without sugarcoating.
despite being a part of the pack, grey doesn’t see much need to fight in the supernatural war that is looming overhead. still, if it came to the point where he needed to defend himself, he would without a doubt. though he doesn’t care about too many other people, he is a brave man who is willing to go as far as he needs to without fear of scrutiny or punishment. when he’s after something, he’s determined to get it, by any means necessary. it is because of this mentality that he is a worthy person to have on your side…if you can overlook all of his other character flaws.
there are very few people in his life that greyson actually gives a damn about. ever since he lost the love of his life to the vampires, he has refused to let people get close to him . he cares deeply for his brother, who he himself infected, but refuses to admit that he cares for his sister who was turned into a mangy mutt. for those who are lucky enough to be in his life, greyson protects and defends them with every fiber of his being. he’s gone through too much pain and heartache to risk losing anyone else so he’ll make sure that never happens again.
while he’s a jackass who is hated by many, greyson does have a humorous side as well. most of his jokes are raunchy, sexually related comments but he does love to play pranks as well. its hard to find this side to him but he tends to surprise you with it when its least expected. a lot of the pranks he pulls are ones that are damaging to others and of course, are things that only he would find hilarious.
finally, greyson is known as one of the biggest players of all. he’s a bit prejudice toward lycans or mortals but will sleep with them all the same. he doesn’t considered himself an evil person necessarily, though not a role model either, but he does enjoy the company of demons and witches…probably because they spice things up a notch. he’s only been in love once and that ended poorly for him so he simply sticks to one night stands.
history ;
greyson cyprien was born to a time when america was just begin to become the country of today. the original settlers had long since passed and their ancestors were creating a new industrial age of the country. greyson, along with his younger brother and sister, was born to a wealthy investment banker, sure to always have a nice cushy life in their wealth. his mother, pleased with his arrival, was allowed to stay at home and being the loving mother and wife she was best at. the busy, bustling streets of new york was their home.
even then, with little technology to keep an intelligent boy happy, greyson could say he lived a comfortable life along with his siblings. all three of the cyprien children had been raised to the highest of moral standards and were provided with the best american education that money could buy. with their father’s wealth in his profession, the cyprien children wanted for nothing. as he grew into his late teenage years, greyson showed much promise in his schoolwork and went on to obtain great marks from high scholars. his father had even selected a pretty young woman fit enough to marry greyson and provide him with worthy grandchildren.
even though many would have longed for his situation, greyson could admit that he was unhappy. he was not in love with the woman his father wished him to marry and the everyday tasks he used to love were now too mundane for him. as smart as he was and as well as he had done at his university, school had proved too boring for him now. as the peak of the depression era began to dawn on them, greyson found himself at the illegal bars, drinking away his worries during the prohibition times.
despite his future wife’s pleading for him stay home, grey snuck out and attended a hidden, underground bar to enjoy some fine spirits and moonshine. he enjoyed getting away and as careful as the patrons had been, they were sure they would be hidden from the police. he met a beautiful young lady that night, kathryn, and had asked her out despite his previous obligations. grey had been enjoying a nice cocktail when he heard the pounding at the door and saw everyone rush in. he had assumed it was the police, coming to take them to jail for the law breaking. but he was wrong. to his horror, he saw the creatures sink their teeth into the flesh of the people in the room, letting them sink to the floor. he screamed to his new partner to flee out the back door while himself stayed to try to fight off whatever these creatures were. they were stronger than he had ever seen any man be, and he would later learn that they were vampires…the very lycans who would change him into a monster. from behind him, he felt the sharp teeth sink into his flesh. the last thing he remembered was collapsing to the floor as he felt his life being sucked away.
when greyson awoke, he was in his home, his brother standing over him. chase had found him and dragged him back to their home, attempting to save his brother. in a blind, hungry rage, grey attacked his brother….stopping him before it was too late to finish him off. he died a mortal death, only to return as a lycan…just as grey had. he would never forgive himself after that. leaving his family temporarily to deal with his issues on his own, greyson learned that kathryn had survived and chased her down to live her her. he did his best to curb his appetite around her, so as not to hurt her. he figured it best to distance himself from his family, to risk hurting any others.
with the great depression looming overhead, greyson decided to take what money he had left and leave new york with kathryn…he didn’t want her to be around such despair. with his resourcefulness and strength, he built a cabin in the woods of wisconsin for themselves, cut off from the world. here, the two hid, for nearly a decade until he was forced to explain why he wasn’t aging. grey had expected her to leave him forever, fearful of the monster he was. but instead, she only confirmed her love for him and begged for him to change her. he refused, unable to risk the fact that he would accidently kill her. while she neared thirty five years of age, he stayed his youthful twenty-five.
greyson thought the two were well hidden until he found chase at this doorstep one evening. he had been told that his father killed himself during the great depression and his mother drank herself to death in his absence. with only chase and elise left, his family was nearly gone. chase had come to beg grey for his help, as his sister had been capture by hunters. they had a vampire working for them and swore they would let it kill elise unless chase and greyson handed themselves over to meet their deaths. of course, neither brother would ever agree to it but they knew they had to save their sibling. grey kept kathryn in the dark so she wouldn’t demand to come with and headed off to california to rescue his sister. unfortunately, however, kathyrn did not obey her partner’s wishes and followed in the shadows.
when chase and grey arrived at their destination, they learned that not only elise, but kathryn had been captured. when grey and chase refused to turn themselves over, the hunters let the vampire attack elise and kathryn, attempting to kill them. instead, both were turned into the monsters they hated so dearly. unable to love anyone or impure blood, grey left everyone he knew to start a life for him anew.
