demons, also known as fallen angels, are perhaps one of the most dangerous any evil being. this category includes succubi, incubus, reapers, shifters, and any other demonic being. demons were once upon a time angels that followed in the path of god. however, these sorts of creatures either betrayed god by committing acts of evil, left heaven by choice, or sold their soul to the devil. after doing so, the angels fell from heaven and descended to hell where they awaited instruction from satan himself. demons are hard to pinpoint simply by their looks. like vampires, the look like most mortals but with a slight glow that makes them almost elegant-looking. some demons, not all, possess black leathery wings that represent those that they used to have while existing in heaven. demons can procreate with humans to create a halfbreed. these children are known as nephilim and possess traits of both their parents. it is possible for two demons to procreate but it is very rare considering that they are created by falling from heaven. they do not need to change form of any sort seeing as they almost always look like humans and their talents are usually hidden. those with wings have the ability to fly and all demons heal spontaneously. demons have the ability to speak through minds, usually only through the supernatural. those who have extreme control over their power may even penetrate the minds of humans, though it is rare. demons may also possess the form of a human, in which the eyes appear completely black, but it is easier for them to be discovered and exorcised this way. their strength matches and in some cases beats that of a lycan. in most cases, they do appear to be the superior breed. seeing as demons worship and follow satan, all holy relics are dangerous to them and tend to melt the flesh away from their bodies. there is no way to completely kill a demon but exorcising them will ban them from earth until satan releases them once more.
angels have the most pure of souls. they find their home in heaven and watch over the events of the world. angels are beautiful beings and always look flawless. they are not able to change their appearance seeing as angels are not supposed to be honest and true. all angels have long, snow-white wings than span almost the length of their entire body. rather than a halo, all angels wear a gold band around their neck to signify their purity. any angel who breaks it or commits a sin will fall from heaven immediately. angels are never made because sex including an angel is considered improper. halfbreeds are possible from an angel procreating with a human. in such a case, the angel will fall after intercourse. it is said that all angels become angels because its their destiny. some angels are created by god randomly, others made into angels are death due to enormously good deeds, and others given the choice to end their mortal life and ascend to heaven. just as with demons, its virtually impossible to kill an angel. cursed objects tend to burn their flesh but it wont' kill them. each angel has a dagger of purity that will send them to a lost dimension of heaven for a period of time, but it is hard to get your hands on one.
lycans differ from werewolves in the sense that lycans have the choice to change between human and werewolf form – a pure werewolf does not. in fact, it is highly debated whether or not a true werewolf even exists anymore. a lycan is not as graceful or attractive as a vampire but are far more powerful. when in human form, lycans appear to be no different than your average human. some lycans may possess scars on their skin from their first changes but it doesn’t look any different than if a human were to get cut. when taken form, lycans are usually a foot taller than their normal height and are coated with rough hair. hair color depends on the color of their mortal hair - blonds will be a lighter brown and brunettes are colored accordingly. they give off the typical vicious werewolf impression and are ruthless. lycans are stronger than both mortals and vampires alike(and in most cases, demons and angels too) and prevail when it comes to any judgment of strength. they are still faster than humans but vampires are superior with swiftness seeing as lycans tend to be more sluggish. a lycan and human cannot procreate. a lycan mating with a vampire results in a halfbreed. born lycans(both parents lycans) are considered the purest of the breed. they grow until their prime, usually their twenties or thirties, and then appear to stop aging. bitten lycans appear to look the same age as they did when they were bitten. lycans change during each full moon and the length of their change depends on their hunger, control, and environment. the process of changing from human form to lycan form is an extremely painful one. clothes and skin rip and bones break to accommodate the larger size of the form. depending on how experienced and skilled the lycan has become, the change may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. lycans, during this time, are typically uncontrollable and their state of thinking is typically gone. undergoing a lycan’s first change is quite possibly the worst experience they will ever suffer seeing as they have never felt such extreme pain before. other than during the full moon, newly changed lycans may also switch back and forth between human and lycan form when they become upset and it is usually uncontrollable. experienced lycans may change when they wish if it is to their benefit. some even find pleasure in changing for the sake of torturing humans. the process of changing a mortal into a lycan is much more difficult that it is with a vampire. seeing as the lycan has very little control when it takes form, they have to practice careful restraint as not to completely devour the body in question. a simple bite, usually on the arm, is enough to change a mortal into a lycan. the site of the bite will become infected within a matter of hours, however, the person will not know of their change until their first full moon. precautions have to be taken in killing a lycan. whereas copper penetrates the skin of vampires, silver penetrates that of lycans. your best bet in killing a lycan is with a silver sword or silver bullets.
every supernatural being sees mortals as the inferior race and in many cases they are. mortals can look like absolutely anything and are the weakest of all species. mortals tend to get caught up in their emotions more so than the supernatural and sometimes it leads to their demise. as the supernatural see it, mortals are ignorant and incompetent which is why they tend to be a prime target. they are targeted by all three of the supernatural species seeing as they are easily manipulated. they can be easily killed and while they can fall in love with a supernatural being, procreation of any sort is impossible. there are a few mortals who are completely aware of the supernatural world. these mortals either had a run-in with something evil or are known as hunters. hunters use whatever possible to eliminate the supernatural races. how boring, eh?
the vampires of f&b are no different than your classic horror film vampire. as usual, they appear to be the epitome of beauty and hold a decadence poise about them. in appearance, vampires have most human-like qualities to them, however, they are much paler and often their beauty is multiplied by ten. vampires are extremely skilled at seducing their prey due to their gorgeous features. a vampire and a human cannot procreate and not every vampire falls in love with a human – this is not twilight! however, if a vampire mates with a lycan, this produces a halfbreed. born vampires(both parents vampires) are considered the purest of the breed. they grow until their prime, usually their twenties or thirties, and then appear to stop aging. bitten vampires appear to look the same age as they did when they were bitten. vampires have two large canine teeth that extend past the size of their normal teeth and are sharp enough to pierce skin. these dentals sometimes protrude when the vampire is excited to feast, while others have fangs that are visible at all times. the changing of a human to a vampire is one that takes skill. vampires not only possess the beauty to seduce but also contain about twice as much strength as a human and are four times as fast. often times, vampires may sneak around humans without them noticing due to this advantage. a vampire may change a human two ways. the first is to bite the mortal, obviously injecting the popular vampire ‘venom’. the second way is the more common of the two. a vampire will remove all the blood of the intended victim, essentially ending their mortal life. after the human’s blood has been properly drained from his or her body, the vampire will replace the mortal with its own blood – it doesn’t take much. the mortal in question will stay in a catatonic state for six days before it rises to walk among the dead on the seventh. during those seven days, the human appears to be dead and it is said that this is the human completely ending its mortal life. vampires do indeed have reflections and items such as garlic don’t work on them. holy relics including crosses and rosaries burn their flesh if they are touched by it but will not kill them. vampires have a hard time entering churches or the vicinity of one and doing so typically engages massive migraines. they are not completely vulnerable to light but they are sensitive to it and in heat greater than seventy degrees, they will start to decay. copper is the only metal that can pierce a vampire and thus, the only thing that can kill it. severing a vampire’s head with a copper tipped sword or shooting them with a copper bullet are the best ways of killing them.
half breeds can be broken up into a few different categories.
the first type of halfbreed is a combination of a lycan and a vampire. halfbreeds are considered to be the supreme race. they taken on the most advantageous traits from both of their siring species - the lycan and the vampire. hybrids are a fairly new species to the world, having only been around for the past twenty-five years or so. a halfbreed is created with the fusion of a vampire and a lycan on a cellular level. achieving such a feat of creating a halfbreed is difficult one and there have been many unsuccessful attempts in history. the appearance of a halfbreed when in form varies from subject to subject. typically, a halfbreed appears like a glorified vampire when not in form. their skin is a pale goldish color and their eyes are almost always a brilliant blue or emerald. unlike lycans, they can change whenever they wish and it does not always have to be during a full moon. when in form, they are larger like a lycan but have smooth blue skin rather than mass amounts of hair. halfbreeds have the two elongated teeth as vampires and talons twice as long and sharp as lycans. they have the swiftness and agility of the vampire matched with the strength and brawn of the lycan. halfbreeds prevail over both of the other species and perform ten times better in battle. at this point in time, it is unsure how a hybrid can be defeated seeing as they are able to regenerate even from death. the typical weapons used on vampires and lycans only slow them down and do not have any long lasting effects on them. halfbreeds are considered sterile and are not able to procreate. there are two ways in which a halfbreeds is created, both of which are hard to accomplish. the first way in which to create such a being is by combining the purest of blood in hopes that the cells fuse. what this means is that a born vampire bites a born lycan or vice versa. this is usually by accident seeing as vampires and lycans do not team up. the being remains the same age they were when bitten but adopt the other species characteristics. the second way to create a halfbreed is by supernatural procreation. a vampire and lycan can procreate to make a halfbreed but this is even more rare than the first instance. usually a pregnancy does not take. older lycans and vampires using this method typically have a better chance of holding a pregnancy seeing as their blood is more pure than a newly bitten vampire of lycan. bitten halfbreeds suffer the same changing as the two species they're made up of. they will die and be reborn again after six days in a catatonic state. after their rebirth, the being will go through the skin tearing and bone breaking of the lycan half of them. born halfbreeds have it much easier. they are only inside the mother's womb for 2 months and grow at an alarming rate. they look like a human baby at birth but will grow to normal size within a year. they mature to look as though they are in their twenties and will not have their first change until they are fully mature. halfbreeds need twice the amount of rations in order to survive. they live on both the flesh of humans and the blood.
the other type of halfbreed is that with ties to angels and demons, otherwise known as nephilim. a nephilim can only be spawned from male demons or angels; their mothers are always mortal. nephilim are nearly indistinguishable from mortals by sight alone. being that they are part human, they look just as any other mortal in the world with no limitations. nephilim are not immortal like their sires, but can go to the realms of heaven and hell - though usually unwelcome. they age, unlike the supernatural, but they age every two years as opposed to annually. nephilim do not alter in anyway to change forms nor do they possess super strength or speed. nephilim, however, have mind abilities. they possess skills of telekinesis and telepathy. a nephilim may feel strange and as if they don't fit in but will only gain their powers once they know they are a nephilim. they can suffer from any death that a mortal would but their powers often let them escape before they can be killed.

demons & angels
angels are ALWAYS pure, unless fallen. demons are ALWAYS corrupt. simply enough.lycans & vampires PURE, CORRUPT, OR ROGUE. each vampire or lycan can be placed into one of these groups. pure vampires and lycans are ashamed of what they are. they typically try to find alternatives to feeding off humans and don't associate with any coven or pack. they are typically in alliance with the angels and have done a great deal to prove they are looking to change themselves for the better. those that are corrupt and typically a tight knit group of coven or pack creatures. they are the purest of their species and side with the demons of the earth. corrupt vampires and lycans embrace what they are and love to feed upon humans, sometimes even for the fun of it. wanderers, of course, are those who don't associate with either alliance. they want nothing more than to live their lives without being bothered with politics.
halfbreeds PURE, CORRUPT, ROGUE. just as with their creators, halfbreeds can be in favor of any alliance. most are created to help one cause or another. because of this fact, many simply choose to live their lives in peace. nephilim halfbreeds tend to take after what their sires were, whether it be a pure angel or a corrupt demon. rogues are those putting down their foot and refusing to fight in anyone's war. mortals HUNTER OR CITIZEN. mortals are inferior to every other race. you're a citizen if you attend school, have a job, or whatever else. citizens typically aren't aware of the supernatural race unless they've had a run in with something. hunters are skilled to do anything they possibly can to kill lycans, vampires, and halfbreeds. hunters occasionally pair up with halfbreeds to help destroy the other races but only because they cannot figure out how to kill the halfbreeds yet.
