Don't think about the consequences.
Louis stepped out from an alley, rubbing his eyes hard with the back of his hand while covering a yawn with the other. He had fallen asleep, whether from the alcohol he had illegally gained or the comforting fact of a full belly he wouldn't know. But either way, he had slept in what was practically a gutter. It wasn't like Louis wasn't used to it, he had slept in more gutters and alleyways in his lifetime than he would have ever thought possible, but it still wasn't the best idea or the safest, something he had been told over and over. He hadn't listened of course and like usual, he was missing some of the things he had been wearing when he had entered his sleeping place. It was only a replaceable hoodie he had been sleeping on though, something that wasn't quite as bad as some of the things stolen from him in the past.
Stretching his arms over his head, he paused to wink at any beauty passing by before sitting down on the steps of one of the stores. Louis watched in almost excitement as the afternoon reached it's peak and more people joined the already growing crowd swirling around the street and sidewalks. He had been known to sleep well beyond noon, but he loved that part of the day either way. To him, it just meant everyone was out and about at this time of day. No one was sleeping except himself and half of the younger population. Blinking against the sunlight, he combed through his hair with his fingers and was almost disgusted with himself. He needed to freshen up, that was for sure. Blinking, he smiled good-naturedly at a group of tourists and turned his head to listen better to their conversation. They were talking about some kind of ship they were staying on and this Hard Rock Cafe that they had discovered they were in love with. Excitement lighting up his gaze, he bounced off the stoop and practically skipped down the sidewalk. It was about time for him to find an adventure to take part in, and this just opened up a new window. He could go borrow some stuff from the patrons at the restaurant and get himself a room at that ship thing and from then on, who knew what would happen!
It didn't take long for Louis to reach the Hard Rock Cafe, having either ran or clumsily danced around the crowded part of the streets. He smiled in genuine happiness and buried himself in a huge party that had come to eat here. They didn't seem to notice and if they did, they certainly didn't say anything to the smiling and flirting young man amongst them. Louis took a seat, fingering the seashells in his jean pocket, figuring they were pretty enough for a good trade or two among the people of today. Leaning over to a young lady of about twenty who had just hung her purse on the back of her chair, he began chatting with her and anyone else around him, trying very hard to easily blend in. It was hard for him to even remember and focus on what he was doing, resisting the urge to lose himself and eat a good meal that he would probably have to pay for. However, nothing lasts too long and soon Louis was being recognized as not one of their original party, getting suspicious stares and some glares.
Recognizing his shortening window of opportunity, the young man began talking to the young lady once again and reached a hand naturally into her purse as inconspicuously as he could make it to the surrounding restaurant. Digging around for a couple of moments, he swiftly withdrew a wallet before dropping the seashells in their place. Dipping his head in thanks, he got up and began to walk off at a quick pace. Hearing the sounds of the party beginning to pay for their meal, he heard a shriek as someone recognized the wallet in his hand and in an instant the boy took off running. He would make it, that was for sure since he was much faster than a normal human being.
Breaking out of the doors, he almost had his breakaway when his tattered shoe caught on the pavement, sending him flying into the nearest passerby. Landing hard against the body, he felt the weight land on the hand that wasn't holding the wallet and he quickly rolled off of the person without even looking at them. He wanted to lift them, but he figured it would look weird to anyone watching if he lifted them one-handed. "Hi! Sorry about that. Could you please move? You're kind of hurting my hand and I can't leave. I'm kind of late for something so it's really important."
